UPDATE: Detsky Mir says revenue rises 23% to 66.6 bln rbl in Jan–Sep

MOSCOW, Oct 23 (PRIME) -- The consolidated revenue of Russia’s largest children goods retailer Detsky Mir increased by 22.9% on the year to 66.6 billion rubles in January–September, the company said in a statement on Monday.

Like-for-like sales rose 6.8% in the period, but the average amount of a purchase contracted 3.8% with the size of tickets rising 10.9%. Alternative like-for-like sales grew 7.2%, with the average purchase amount falling 3.8% and the number of tickets rising 11.4%.

In July–September, consolidated revenue of the company increased 19.8% on the year to 24.6 billion rubles. The company launched 29 stores in the period, raising the total amount of stores of Detsky Mir to 557 as of September 30, and expanding the shopping area by 18.4% to 631,000 square meters.

“The company's stable financial position and availability of quality retail space enabled the management to adjust its plan for geographical expansion: Detsky Mir is going to open at least 90 supermarkets instead of the initially planned 70 stores,” the company said quoting CEO Vladimir Chirakhov.
